Castañuelas

The castanets, also called chopsticks, are a musical instrument that is more than 3000 years old.

Extending throughout the Mediterranean geography, it has been in Spain where its use has been most deeply rooted and developed; especially in flamenco dancing, although they are also used in other dances of Spanish folklore. Like the guitar, castanets are considered one of our national instruments, part of our cultural heritage.

There are several materials in which we manufacture them, from woods of granadillo, walnut, rosewood, ebony … to other more innovative and resistant as the pressed fabric or fiberglass; each of these materials contributing its own particular sound.

We also have “pollopás”, which are plastic for learning or for children. In its color we have black and several shades of brown.

All our castanets are made in Seville by master craftsmen with more than 50 years of experience.
